Why: Braun makes provocative rock in contoured pop context. At the risk of seeming contradictory, there is an edge to Braun but it is smoothed by a sophisticated approach to modern pop-rock. Saunders is the unknown here. Kentuckyborn, L.A.-based Saunders' brief bio indicates that he is a renaissance man whose current attention is folk-rock. New album is Novelsongs, the title of which implies that Saunders is a storyteller.

Norine Performs at Rediscover Granville 2010

Norine Braun entertains July 3 and 4th as part of the kick off for Rediscover Granville 2010.

Rediscover Granville 2.010 takes place every weekend this summer, starting July 3 and ending September 6, with activities happening throughout the day. Granville Street downtown is closed to traffic all summer, and open to the public as a community space for five blocks between Smithe and Hastings.

Rediscover Granville 2.010 has an exciting mix of free events and activities taking place every weekend including:

Dancing

Art lessons

Concerts

Street hockey

Markets

Exhibits

There are also plenty of spaces to kick back, relax and socialize, with increased public seating and extended business patios down the street. There’s something for everyone to do this summer on Granville.

Acoustically Inclined charted at #3 for March on Outvoice the online GLBT Top 40 and Climb the Mountain was the #9 on the top 10 songs for the month to boot! Thanks to all who have been voting, so glad you like that cd and tune.

Norine Braun serves up another captivating music video. She says, "I was inspired by the novel Fahrenheit 451's cinematic qualities and strange dreamlike logic. Ray Bradbury's insight and foresight regarding intellectual freedom with censorship and brainwashing at its core ignited me. He dared ask the question of being happy and fulfilled of his main character. The timeliness and contemporary feel of this novel was irresistible. I focused on the conformity aspect and how this creates the illusion of security and prevents people from looking for fulfillment and searching for freedom. I encapsulated the highlights of the novel and styled it into a rap rock funk ambient fusion to reflect todays energy and world." Winner of the last SIBL international songwriting competition.
