Alice and I enjoyed many unique and fantastic gigs this summer.

Forest Symphony @ Pacific Spirit Park UBC was a serene setting with a wonderful appreciative audience walking by on their forest stroll.

The JLounge  Pride Week Event Loud and Proud with Jeffrey Straker and Matthew Presidente was a real fun time celebrating pride and we so loved our group singalong of Hallelujah at the end.

The Friday Night Artisan Markets  in Yarrow BC were lovely and the last gig was especially touching, when a little 8 year old girl Rain passionately danced to my entire second set including the mellow moody ones. She gave me a little flower at the end too awww so very sweet

We had a blast playing at the Richmond Maritime Festival at Brittania Shipyards such a terrific setting and Alice amazed the crowd with her melodian on the acoustic sets. What the heck is that thing anyway was a common question lol!

Montreal Chaos Cafe   Our first time ever in la belle province was incredibly interesting and exciting! We can't wait to return to spend more time in this tres beautiful city. We happened to hit Montreal Pride and Montrealers sure know how to put on a party and have fun and it was free!  My attempts en francais were well received but I was answered in english lol, more practice for me!

I hope you had an absolutely wonderful summer and will have an even better fall.

Greenwich NY Easton Mountain's Out in the Woods Festival was magical and celebratory as we made history with this inaugural event. The artists were so wonderful and we had instant friendships and comraderie. I also got to meet Ron Waite in person, who is a Junior Executive Producer of Acoustically Inclined. We shared alot of laughs and good feelings at the festival. PICS and reviews are online. Terry Christopher graciously hosted us as we spent a couple days sightseeing in the amazing NYC.

Drunk from No. 8 was selected as a feature song in the intro to indie artists by RRadio Music. This program airs on over 150 stations.

My music is available at any station in the world as I can send digital downloads so if you love No. 8 PLEASE request play at your fave stations it  really helps get the music out there!

 NORINE BRAUN  No. 8 - self-released

 By Ana Bedard

Beatroute Magazine Western Canada's Monthly Arts and Entertainment

There are bluesy harmonica riffs and an undercurrent of pop, but at its heart, Norine Braun’s album No. 8 is a country album. Through a clenched jaw, singer/songwriter Braun belts out lyrics on familiar country music themes. She writes about unrequited love, about the transformational quality of love and about heartbreak. There is also a song about coming home again in order to make peace with the past, another solid country and western theme. Most of the tracks have an undertone about the importance of cutting loose and having a good time.

Then there is “Sprack Chica Boogie.” This song stands apart from the rest of the album, as it’s faster, it’s animated and it’s definitely a boogie. Braun caterwauls the onomatopoeidic lyrics “Sprack Chicka Doonie/Sprack Chica Loonie/Sprack Chicka loonie toonie town.” She declares that when you are feeling sad she will find you, tease you and set you loose. The song wails a promise of a good time.

Overall, Norine is a singer/songwriter with a sense of humour. To a partner with whom she wants to do “frisky business” she observes has “something underneath the leather.” The title track “No. 8” is in fact the eighth track on the album. There is enough tongue-in-cheek and embracing of silliness to bring a smile to a hardened reviewer’s face. You can just tell that Norine Braun had a ball recording this album.

No.8 new review in from the respected Blues Underground.

Norine is a featured artist on the new Canadian Independent Recording artist site http://www.canindie.com/

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                            Braun and Brains Music

Norine Braun’s No. 8 Waits For The World To Catch Up

Norine Braun adds roots rock, blues and Americana on her new No.8 releasing Wed. April 27th at the JLounge 1216 Bute 9 pm. Door $12 includes a copy of No.8.

Vancouver BC April 24, 2011 According to reviewer Vinny Bond Marini, “Norine Braun is an enigma. Is she a jazz chanteuse?  A blues singer?  A pop singer? A rocker?  On No. 8, she almost dares you to decide for yourself. “  Braun recruited a killer collection of roots rock, soul and blues session players including renowned producer and Juno nominated, Adam Popowitz (Pacifika, Mollies Revenge, Leela Gilday) who produced and performed on all 10 of the songs with bass and lead guitar. Drummer Elliot Polsky,  (Jim Byrnes, Zubot and Dawson, Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir) gives the groove and heartbeat to No. 8. Blues meister Andrew "HuggyBear" Huggard (Ollie Bollen Trio, Leonard and the Lab Rats) shakes things up with his soulful blues harmonica. International touring freelance keyboard/pianist Mary Ancheta (Bjork,John Mayer, Nickleback) shines with her astounding keys on feature tracks too. The album is a mix of new originals by Norine Braun with blues, roots rock and soul at the centre.

Norine Braun is an adult alternative/folk-rock/roots rock/blues type of artist. “Whether playing with the Mood Swings or alone, Norine Braun is never dull. With sensibilities grounded in the slam and performance art genres, some of her songs make it seem that Braun has been waiting for the world to catch up with her sound.” - Cindy FIlipenko

I Believe You is the ultimate wedding song for everyone.
This song was a result of my niece's request. She asked me to write a special song and perform for her wedding day. It was fortunate I recorded the song as a gift to her and her husband as I was in a horseback riding accident and ended up in the hospital when the wedding took place. They were able to play the love song as they walked down the aisle and I am glad to say they are still happily married!
The song features a killer 90's style guitar solo, contrasting vocal dynamics, beautiful harmony vocals, heartfelt lyrics and produced by the amazing James Bowers. I was going through my archives of demos and songs and came across this beauty, it seemed a shame only the family has heard this love song and I thought it high time to share...

Norine Braun serves up another captivating music video. She says, "I was inspired by the novel Fahrenheit 451's cinematic qualities and strange dreamlike logic. Ray Bradbury's insight and foresight regarding intellectual freedom with censorship and brainwashing at its core ignited me. He dared ask the question of being happy and fulfilled of his main character. The timeliness and contemporary feel of this novel was irresistible. I focused on the conformity aspect and how this creates the illusion of security and prevents people from looking for fulfillment and searching for freedom. I encapsulated the highlights of the novel and styled it into a rap rock funk ambient fusion to reflect todays energy and world." Winner of the last SIBL international songwriting competition.

Davide Di Saro's outstandingly great work really stood out!!! Now I need your support more than ever to email and request the video Crystallize by Norine Braun. Please send requests everyday to muchmoremail@muchmoremusic.com That would be terrific and you would really be a big help.

Hey There, Happy New Year! Hope 2007 has started off well for you. I am happy and honoured to announce I have again been sampled and/or remixed on a couple of tunes from a brand new release by fellow Magnatune Artist-Producer, Fourstones. Fourstones teams up with lo tag blanco on Je Suis Un Trio where you will hear samples and parts of Je'n Suis Desoleè in a whole new funky, worldly way. I'm The 1 tag is used in I'm The 1 and suddenly I have become a tenor in this chunky NINish feeling tune, very cool. The album is a little raucus, a little funky and a whole lotta fun. Make sure you download a copy and you can listen before you buy too ***************************************** Here is the promo blurb from magnatune: Magnatune Remixed: Ridin' The Faders 2 http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/fourstones-magnaremix2 We were thrilled when we heard that Victor Stone, Lo Tag Blanco, Pat Chilla,...

High4records.com is currently featuring the Next Wave cd review by Sheila Hash. Here is what Sheila had to say about Crystallize. When I popped this cd in and went to the first track on the list (Norine Braun CRYSTALLIZE) the beginning of the track started out like some sort of fairy tale journey, from the minute Norine began singing I knew I would love this song. I’m reminded of the musical portions of those old 40s musical movies a la Fred Astaire or Judy Garland that I used to love watching as a child. I literally got the urge to break out into song and dance, definitely a voice that could turn around even the worst mood. Very fresh, very pleasant, well done Norine.

The Independents (Braun and Brains Music) There is an awful lot of music around to try and get your ears around. When someone - in this case producer/singer Norine Braun and compiler Craig Waddell - takes the time to sift through hundreds of submissions to select 18 tracks representative of this variety, it’s a great chance to sample the scenes. Beginning with Braun’s haunting "Alberta", we’re treated to NYC alt-folk (Dudley Saunders) and Ann Arbor, Mich. nu rawk (Krescent 4) alongside the folk of Ithaca, N.Y. ’s Patti Witten. The track sequencing puts it all together in a way that works like a great mix tape. B+ Stuart Derdeyn The Province
